My Journey In Life

I was in your shoes not long ago, then I stumbled upon the world of digital marketing, which turned my life around...Let me tell you how it all started....

As a kid...

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to use my gifts and talents to help and serve people. Since the age of five, I dreamed of being a doctor.

At age six, my mom, who was a nurse, gifted me with tongue depressors, bandages, and her old stethoscope to put in my very own doctor's bag. I was always finding “patients” to treat at family parties. My little cousins were bandaged from head to toe with tongue depressors stuck in their mouths while I listened to their heartbeats with my stethoscope.

At age eight, I pumped up my mom's blood pressure cuff while my dad was asleep to see if it worked. Needless to say, I got my answer when he woke up in the dead of his sleep, screaming that his arm fell off because I pumped the cuff too tightly.

Although my way of treating my “patients” was not conventional when I was little, in high school, I became more serious about being a doctor. Aside from volunteering and shadowing doctors at a local hospital, I wrote a business plan and handmade business cards for the clinic I wanted to open in the future. My aspirations to become a doctor and own my own clinic laid the foundation for my future entrepreneurial spirit.

Then the entrepreneurship bug bit me...

In college, my interests expanded from medicine to business. I started a small side hustle creating my own essential oil blends for conditions such as seasonal allergies, muscle pain and sleep deprivation. I expanded my essential oil line to a body care line that included bug sprays, body scrubs and body creams infused with essential oils.

I loved making my own money as a college student and creating various essential oil blends for people's needs. It was gratifying to help people feel better by providing them natural solutions to their conditions and pampering them with my body care line. I knew entrepreneurship was my calling. I took business classes in college and learned everything I could about running a small business especially the ins and outs of starting one from scratch.

The more I learned about entrepreneurship, the more I realized it was a way to combine my creativity with a purpose. My passion for entrepreneurship continued throughout college and I took every opportunity to learn about running a business.

Then I tried all the things that, well, didn't work...

Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, I faced my fair share of failures. I was involved in multi-level marketing as a travel agent booking vacations for friends, family and people on social media. It was challenging to attract customers other than family and friends. I did not want to hound the people I knew for bookings all the time. Although I enjoyed booking travel, I knew doing this was not for me. This setback was a huge disappointment, but I learned how to pivot, be resilient and adaptable.

Then, I pivoted to affiliate marketing. The company I chose initially promoted and hyped their course to be sold for under ten dollars. Customers were given an up sell to purchase their advanced training for thousands of dollars if they wanted to learn more in-depth about affiliate marketing. It did not sit well, knowing I had to pitch this to my customers and could not be transparent from the beginning. The lack of transparency was disappointing. Yet, each failure was a stepping stone that taught me some valuable insights and skills.

Finally, I cracked the code!

Before I cracked the code and discovered digital marketing, I worked 60+ hours/week at my brick and mortar business that I owned with my husband. I wanted to cut down my hours to have time to attend my 11 year old son's travel basketball practices and games. It was frustrating to miss practices or rush from work and almost miss his games. Although, I enjoyed working at my business, I did not want to compromise time spent with my son. It was important for me to be a mom who was present for her son and avoid constantly juggling a challenging work schedule. I needed a better work/life balance.

I searched countless hours trying to find the right side-hustle that could help me pay the bill and create passive income online. My turning point came when I stumbled upon digital marketing.

I came across a couple of comprehensive courses that taught me everything I needed to learn about digital marketing. I invested in more courses that taught me about social media marketing, email campaigns, SEO, advertising on Facebook and Instagram and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help with different aspects of digital marketing. I learned everything I could to implement what I had learned.

Using these skills, I started my own online business. I teach people how to make passive income by selling courses on digital marketing. I have marketed my online business by posting engaging social media content, optimizing my website for search engines and building a email list to connect with my customers. I quickly realized that digital marketing has the power to connect with a wide audience and turn their interest into sales. It was not just by chance; it was through thoughtful planning, staying consistent and harnessing the right tools.

Today, my business is thriving and I help others just like you!
